American Nation Bank (formerly American National Bank) opened for business in May, 1983. The original location was at 10 West Main in what is now known as the Colston building. In January 1984, the home office moved to its present location at 1901 North Commerce, Ardmore, OK.

Since the inception of the bank, Jesse Cross has been the Chairman of the Board and held the position as CEO.  Although stepping down as CEO in 2024,  he is still very active as Chairman of the Board and in running the bank.  Most of the bank’s founders continue to serve as American Nation Bank’s directors.  Thanks to their strong leadership and progressive ideas, American Nation Bank has grown to over $626,000,000 in assets and have added nine branch locations.

American Nation Bank has opened several Oklahoma branches–the Comanche Branch in July 1988, the Wilson Branch in July 1990, the Lone Grove Branch in September 1994, the Homeland Branch in April 1998, the South Commerce St. Branch in February 2009, the Durant branch in 2019, and the Marietta branch in 2022.  In April, 2010, the Texas division, American Nation Bank was transitioned into branch locations.  This transition added two more locations to serve you–Keller and Saginaw, Texas.
